About Rotem Oreg

Rotem Oreg is an exeprt on the politics and foreign policy of the United States, specializiing in the U.S.-Israel relations. He provides lectures and advisory to government ministries, private companies, NGOs, Israel advocacy organizations, Jewish communities, and college campuses in Israel and the U.S.  about the challenges to the "Special Relations" between Israel and the U.S. and about "how to speak liberal".

Up to date, hundreds of participants in the workshop "How to Speak Liberal" recived knowledge, tools, and methods to tell Israel's story around the workd in a way that liberal audience, usually more critical of Israel and sometimes even hostile to Israel, can identify with.

Rotem has over a decade of experience in the foreign policy and national security fields. He runs Washington Express, the leading blog in Israel covering U.S. politics, and he is the founder and director of LIBRAEL - Liberal Israel, a nonprofit working to empower the relations between Israel and liberal America. Previously he worked in the diplomatic-security field in Israel's Finance Ministry, as a Parliamentary and Diplomatic Advisor to former Minister of Defense, Moshe (Bogie) Ya'alon, and as the research assistant to former U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Daniel B. Shapiro. He served in the IDF as a strategic analyst and a head-of-squad in the Israeli Defense Intelligence. 

Rotem holds a B.A. in PPE (Philosophy, Politics, and Economics) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, and he is a graduate of the U.S. Department of State leadership program (IVLP) and of the Hansen Leadership Institute (HLI) in the University of San Diego. He is the author of the novel "Lion Heart" and currently is working on a book, "Saving the Alliance with America".
